What’s Most Important? Gratitude.

Saturday, June 27th, 2009

Hello!

Wow it has been a while since my last post. Have been pondering lately, reflecting life, and wanted to share what I have found to be the most important aspect of daily living. One that I know you hear a lot about, but it can not be said enough - and that is to be grateful - to give thanks. Give thanks for your talents, for this gift of life, for your health, for the beloved friends, family, and associates that are dear to you - for all the abundance that pours into your life daily without you doing a thing.

Here’s a daily exercise to get your gratitude motor going:

Before you retire each evening, write 10 things you are grateful for, and after you have written them, close your eyes, and pondering what you have written, feel the gratitude. Really feel it, and let that feeling expand for 2-3 minutes. Doing this exercise daily will bring joy, a spring in your step, confidence, and a whole lotta inspiration, and that is a pretty great way to live!

Go gratitude!!!

The Inauguration of Barack Obama: Celebration and Call to Service and Responsibility!

Tuesday, January 20th, 2009

Today we witness the inauguration of the 44th president of the United States, Barack Obama. Two million people or more stood in frigid temperatures to perhaps catch a glimpse of our new president, and most of all to be part of history, to celebrate together the dawning of a new era for this country and the world. President Obama’s inauguration speech brings a message of hope and possibility, of honoring those who have come before as their sacrifices have made it possible for us to enjoy the freedoms we do, now, and most of all a call to service and responsibility to make sure that future generations have the same opportunities we have had. The world needs our love, it needs each and every one of us to step up and play our part, to be the best we can be. President Obama is asking this of us, and as we step into this new year, this year of change and possibility, lets remember that we are all in this together, and that as each one of us does our part to make this world a better place — we are making it that much easier for others to do the same.

Below find quotes from President Barack Obama, may they inspire you to follow the call of compassion, utilize your talents, in service to others:

“Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.”

“Focusing your life solely on making a buck shows a certain poverty of ambition. It asks too little of yourself. Because it’s only when you hitch your wagon to something larger than yourself that you realize your true potential.”

“If you’re walking down the right path and you’re willing to keep walking, eventually you’ll make progress.”

“It took a lot of blood, sweat and tears to get to where we are today, but we have just begun. Today we begin in earnest the work of making sure that the world we leave our children is just a little bit better than the one we inhabit today.”

“Money is not the only answer, but it makes a difference.”

“This is the moment when we must come together to save this planet. Let us resolve that we will not leave our children a world where the oceans rise and famine spreads and terrible storms devastate our lands.”

“We need to internalize this idea of excellence. Not many folks spend a lot of time trying to be excellent.”
